Censorship and Video Games

Join the Southwest Chapter of the ACLU of Connecticut on Oct. 23 for a discussion of video games, censorship and the First Amendment.

The topic will be a decision of particular importance to our youth and their parents in which the Supreme Court struck down a California law prohibiting the sale and rental of violent video games to minors. Did the court get it right? Can the decision be reconciled with other cases? What does this decision mean for free speech generally? Are parents the only people in our society who ought to be concerned about the consequences of violent video games?

Guest speaker Martin Margulies, Professor Emeritus and Adjunct Professor of Law at Quinnipiac University School of Law, will give an interactive presentation that will examine this fascinating case.
