Worker's Leg Crushed By Beam at Stamford Construction Site

Police said the workers injuries were non-life threatening.

A sub-contractor at a work site on Magee Ave. where a new fuel pumping station is being constructed suffered an injury to his leg when a steel girder fell on it, city officials reported Thursday morning.

According to Mayor Michael Pavia, workers were installing new fuel-dispensing tanks at the site when the incident occurred.

Capt. Richard Conklin said officials from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) were coming down to investigate the scene and make sure all safety protocols and procedures were being followed.
