Stamford Mayoral Candidate David Martin (D) Raises over $122k in Q2

David Martin, Democratic candidate for Mayor, filed his quarterly report detailing his second quarter fundraising. The campaign reported raising a total of $122,864 from April 1st to June 30th from 197 contributors according to a release from Martin's office. Of the 197 contributors, 143 were Stamford residents. The campaign also reported having $127,832.61 on hand.

Martin led the Democratic field with the highest number of donors and percentage of funds raised from within Stamford in the second quarter according to the release.

“Our fundraising strength this quarter shows that our campaign is supported by, committed to, and accountable to Stamford residents,” said Martin in the release. “Our focus will remain on the community and on the issues most important to Stamford.”

Underscoring the strength of the Martin campaign operation was the news that Martin’s second quarter results, net of expenditures, were higher than any other candidate in the race, according to the release and Martin was quoted as saying. “We’re running an efficient campaign and spending funds at a rate that will ensure we are wellpositioned for the fall campaign."

The quarterly report includes a personal contribution of $75,000 from Martin, who matched approximately dollar for dollar the funds raised through the end of the quarter, according to the release. Martin’s contribution highlights his dedication and commitment to his campaign and to the people of Stamford.

“We have a winning campaign team in place and are building a grassroots organization that will have the resources necessary to win this fall,” added Martin in the release. “I always have put the people of Stamford first throughout my thirty years of volunteer service to our city and my commitment will not waver in the face of outside and oversized fundraising by my opponents.”

Martin currently serves on the Stamford Board of Finance and previously served on the Board of Representatives for 26 years, the last eight as its President.
