Stamford Hires New Supervisor For Sewage Treatment Facility

William Degnan, who previously ran a small wastewater treatment plant in Arizona, will start work at the Stamford WPCA May 29.

The 's has reportedly hired a plant supervisor to oversee operations of the on McGee Avenue.

According to a report in the Stamford Advocate, William Degnan, who previously ran a small wastewater treatment plant in Arizona, will start work at the WPCA May 29. His hiring follows the retirement last year of WPCA Executive Director Jeannette Brown, who headed up the agency for more than 35 years.

Degnan, who has also run treatment plants in New Haven, West Haven, Waterbury and Hartford, reportedly holds a Class 4 operator license, the highest level of certification offered by the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and a state requirement in order to run a waste water treatment facility.
