Sen. Leone to Honor Vets During Stamford's MLK 2013 Day of Service

The honor is to recognize their service to neighbor and country.

The following is a release from Sen. Carlo Leone's Office:

On Saturday at 11 a.m., state Senator Carlo Leone (D-Stamford), Senate Chairman of the General Assembly’s Veterans’ Affairs Committee, will honor three veterans during the MLK 2013 Day of Service in Stamford for service to their country and ongoing service to their neighbors as active community volunteers.

"The legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. sets an example of service to others that all of us can aspire to," Leone said. "The military veterans and Stamford natives whom honor here today exemplify that kind of service. These men gave so much to their country by serving in the Armed Forces, and they continue to give back to their communities by volunteering their time and efforts. Today, we can give a little back by honoring them for their service and for all they have done for all of us."
