November Election Party Endorsements
An update on party-endorsed candidates and offices for the municipal election to take place on Nov. 8, 2011.
While an official list of candidates running for offices on Stamford's Board of Finance, Board of Education, and Board of Represenatives will not be released until September 19, the local Republican, Democratic, Independent, and Green parties have submitted all of their nominations to Stamford's Registrar of Voters.
"We're preparing a lottery drawing on Monday," Democratic Registrar of Voters Alice Fortunato said. "It's where we put the names of all candidates in envelopes and pull them out to determine positions on the ballot."
According to Fortunato, ballot position is very important in the political world. "People have won or lost based on their position on the ballot," Fortunato said.
