New Marina Opens at Stamford's Harbor Point

The full service marina, built on a former brownfield that was cleaned up with help from the Army Corps of Engineers, reportedly provides 40 new boat slips on Stamford Harbor.

and representatives from developer reportedly held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday to celebrate the opening of the new North Marina on Washington Boulevard.

The new North Marina is part of 's ambitious Harbor Point revitalization project which involves redevelopment of five separate sections of Stamford’s South Side totaling about 80 acres. Once completed it will feature more than 6 million square feet of residential, retail, office and hotel space, as well as 11 acres of new parkland.

As part of the marina project, BLT has constructed a quarter-mile-long public boardwalk that leads to a five acre public park on the water, according to the report. BLT officials said the project will give Stamford residents much-needed additional access to the waterfront.
