Major Expansion Coming For UConn Stamford?

Gov. Dannel Malloy is rumored to soon be introducing a plan that would significantly expand UConn's Stamford campus.

State officials are reportedly planning a major expansion of the ’s — however a proposal is yet to be officially unveiled.

According to an article in Westfair Online, Jud Saviskas, director of graduate and undergraduate programs for the school of business at UConn Stamford, disclosed during a recent meeting that Gov. Dannel Malloy would soon be introducing a plan that would significantly expand the downtown campus.

“If Malloy is planning a major expansion, the question becomes whether he will move promptly – he has already made education the focus of the legislative session starting this week,” the Business Journal’s Alexander Soule wrote.

Kip Bergstrom, one of Malloy’s lead economic development officials who was also at the meeting, hinted that an expanded campus would allow , but he didn’t go into any details, according to the Business Journal report.
