Greenwich Beach Passes: 19,000 Issued for the Season So Far

It's beach season and that means it's time to get your permits.

Greenwich Patch told you in March about the digital movement making it easier than ever to register for one online, but there's still a long line at town hall for people who'd rather pick them up on person.

There's no limit on passes, but so far, more than 19,000 renewed or have been issued new passes, according to Parks and Recreation Department Administrative Assistant Anita Wood. The town expects about 40,000 passes to be issues, according to averages.

Wood said roughly 40-percent of the permits issued have been done by residents utilizing the online system this year and said that's the optimum way for people to obtain them, as the turnaround for online requests is much faster than the traditional method.
