Impacts of Corporate Citizenship

The League of Women Voters of Stamford, together with Common Cause Connecticut will sponsor the "Impacts of Corporate Citizenship" Educational Forum led by Jeff Clements, author of Corporations Are Not People. The event is free and open to the public.

This timely forum will examine the development of the doctorine of "corporate personhood" and its impact on state laws, including Connecticut, elections and recent grassroots efforts for a constiutional amendment to reverse the Court's decision. Three states have passed an anti-Citizens United amendment to the U.S. Constitution, and another 20 states have introduced legislation calling on Congress to amend the Constitution.
