CT Governor Sells Stamford Home for $1.3 million

Gov. Dannel Malloy no longer owns property in his hometown of Stamford, with the $1.3 million sale of his Ocean Drive East home, according to the Stamford Advocate. 

The selling price was down from the $1.8 million asking price when the house first went on the market in 2011, the Stamford Advocate reported. The purchase was officially processed April 22.

About 10 years ago, investigators questioned Malloy concerning people employed to work on the house’s barn. It was suspected the workers may have received special treatment in bids for city contracts, but Malloy was exonerated, the Stamford Advocate reported

After winning the 2010 Connecticut gubernatorial election, Malloy moved to the Governor’s Residence on Prospect Avenue in Hartford, CTNews reported.

But last summer, neighbors of the Stamford house saw a city truck carrying hedge trimmings from Malloy’s property, instigating another investigation, said the Stamford Advocate.
