Campaign Notebook: The Day Endorses Murphy

News and updates from the campaign trail in Connecticut.

Chris Murphy (D): The Day endorsed Congressman Murphy in the Democratic primary because "Mr. Murphy is the better politician. These skills count in an election."

Linda McMahon (R) released a new ad attacking Republican rival Christopher Shays, reports the Norwalk Citizen. It says Shays is a "career politician" and promotes herself as a job creator.

Third District

Rosa DeLauro (D): DeLauro, along with Representative George Miller, submitted an op-ed to Politico emphasizing the importance of food stamps and other legislation that provides aid for Americans struggling to afford food.

Wayne Winsley (R):  that he will be holding an open Candidate's forum on Thursday, August 9th at 7 p.m. at the New Haven Senior Center.

Fourth District

The Connecticut Mirror reports that the race between Steve Obsitnik (R) and Representative Jim Himes (D) is "becoming increasingly heated." Many attacks have stemmed from the candidates' attempts to win over independents.

Fifth District
