A woman walking along Rose Park Avenue in Stamford reported a strong-arm robbery to police early Monday morning.
According to authorities, the woman reported to police at approximately 1 a.m. That she had been walking down the street when a thin black male in his late teens or early 20s approached her, grabbed her purse and took off running.
A cellphone and $40 in cash was lost in the theft. Police said the woman was not injured and refused any kind of medical attention at the scene.
A search of the area turned up no suspects, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
