[UPDATE] Stamford Driver Strikes Port Chester Pedestrian

Woman, 30, hit by SUV as she crosses the street.

 

A pedestrian was struck and injured this morning while crossing Westchester Avenue in downtown Port Chester.

The woman, a 30-year-old Port Chester resident, was assisted by Port Chester police officers and emergency medical personnel.

Police said the woman suffered a leg injury and was taken to Greenwich Hospital for treatment. The woman's husband told police that his wife was recovering from the incident.

The woman was struck by an SUV driven by a 73-year-old Stamford, CT, resident. Police said no tickets were issued in connection with the incident and that the driver's view of the pedestrian may have been obstructed by a passing bus.
