Three Teenagers Arrested for First-Degree Robbery on the West Side

arrested three teenagers early Wednesday morning after they assaulted and attempted to rob a man on the West side.

According to police, the victim was standing in his driveway of his home at 12 Stephen Street at approximately 11:43 p.m. Tuesday night when he was approached by six black males. He told officers that one of the men had a handgun and that the group tried to steal his gold chain and rummage through his pockets.

The victim said that the man holding the gun eventually hit him over the head with the weapon, while the others punched and kicked him. The suspects later ran away on foot heading northbound on Stephen Street. When officers arrived, the victim said that he would be able to identify all of the suspects. Officers also spoke with two female witnesses who were standing across the street when the incident occurred.

Officers pursued and apprehended two of the suspects  — Xavian Freeman, 18, of 102 Clinton Avenue, and Aaron Pharr, 18, of 173 Lockwood Avenue, Stamford — on Schuyler Avenue and the victim and witnesses identified them as two of the attackers. Shortly after, another suspect — Kyen Monroe, 17, of 102 Clinton Avenue, Stamford — was pursued and apprehended on Stephens Street and positively identifed by the victim and the witnesses. Officers found the gun, which was identified as a BB handgun, in Monroe's possession.

All three suspects were arrested and charged with first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, resisting arrest, second-degree assault and conspiracy to commit second-degree assault. Their bond is set at $75,000 each. Monroe is scheduled to appear in court on March 30. Pharr and Freeman are scheduled to appear in court on April 5.

Other Arrests

Daniel Bell, 20, of 37 Greenwich Ave., Stamford, was arrested Tuesday for violation of a protective order and third-degree assault on a pregnant woman.

Oscar Garcia, 23, of 240 Stillwater Ave., Stamford, was arrested Tuesday for first degree-assault.

Renanta Mohan, 32, of 40 Grant Ave., Stamford, was arrested Tuesday for disorderly conduct.

Terry Mohan, 42, of 69 Maple Ave., Stamford, was arrested Tuesday for disorderly conduct.

Vladimir Ruales-Espinoza, of 69 Cove Road, Stamford was arrested Tuesday for third-degree burglary and fourth-degree larceny.
