Three victims arrived at Stamford Hospital a short time later, Hohn said: the first was a 21 year-old male with a gunshot wound to the left forearm who was treated and released, the second was a 21 year-old male with a gunshot wound to the right shoulder, and the third was a 22 year-old male with a wound to the left leg who underwent surgery.

Two homes were struck with gunfire and narrowly missed the sleeping occupants inside, Hohn said.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigations determined that the fight broke out at 18 James Street when unwanted guests showed up at the party. "We believe the motive for this shooting was caused by the simmering West side/East side rivalry, which led to the argument and shooting," Hohn said.

The department recovered two weapons: one at the hospital and the other from a motor vehicle stop and foot pursuit directly after the incident, Hohn said.

The investigation is ongoing and the department is asking that anyone with information about the shooting call 203-977-4417. All calls will be kept confidential.
