Stamford Teen Allegedly Caught with Whiskey, Stolen Jewelry

A resident called in a report of a suspicious person Saturday afternoon.

A 19-year-old Stamford man was arrested Saturday afternoon after police responded to a report of a suspicious person in the vicinity of Thunder Lake and Indian Hill Roads.

According to police, officers located the man—identified as Carlos Uribe, of Dee Lane—in the vicinity. He was allegedly found to be in possession of a bottle of whiskey, less than one-half ounce of marijuana, a substance he claimed to be bath salts and jewelry police suspect could have been stolen from a residence in Weston.

Though Uribe said he had bath salts, police tested a "trace amount" of the substance and it came up negative for that drug, so no related charges were filed.

Police said Uribe was in possession of a thin, broken 10-karat gold chain that was approximately seven inches long, an 18-inch long gold chain and a gold anklet with "a heart and 'LoveYou' inserts in it."

Police charged Uribe with sixth-degree larceny, possession of alcohol by a minor and possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana.

He was held on $2,500 bond and given a March 26 court date.

You do not need to still whiskey; you can buy it, drink it on the spot or mix it in your own, personal whiskey still. But, I guess, some of our youth still need to learn that being young does not mean being reckless :|
