Stamford Sex Offender Arrested, Two Counts of Failure to Register

Kenny Angarita, 28, charged with sexual assault of a minor in 2005, was arrested Thursday after he allegedly twice ignored police orders to register as a sex offender.

The Stamford Police Department arrested 39 Glenbrook Road's Kenny Angarita, 28, for twice ignoring lawful orders to register as a sex offender.

"He was originally arrested for the sexual assault of a minor," SPD's Sgt. Diedrich Hohn said. "He was sent a notice on December 17, 2009 to comply with registration, and he didn't."

According to Hohn, Angarita was sent a second notice to register in 2010, and still would not register. A warrant for Angarita's arrest was issued on July 10, 2011.

While SPD's jail log lists Angarita's address as 214 Pemberwick Road in Greenwich, SPD reports that Angarita was living in Stamford at the time of his arrest.

"He was warned twice, so he was charged twice," Hohn said.
