Stamford Police Search For Gunman on City's West Side
Officers with the Stamford Police Department's Special Response Team reportedly responded to the scene armed with automatic rifles and an armored personnel carrier.
Stamford Police were reportedly searching for a gunman who was seen entering a rooming house at 293 Fairfield Ave. Friday afternoon — however after a two hour search neither a suspect nor a weapon was not found.
According to a report in the Stamford Advocate, officers with the 's Special Response Team responded to the scene armed with automatic rifles and an armored personnel carrier. They surrounded the building after receiving a tip that a man with a gun was seen running inside.
Police have been on heightened alert as a result of some on the city's West Side — on Monday a 21-year-old man was shot in his right leg in a drive-by shooting incident.

As reported on the man was in a group of friends walking on Selleck Street when a car pulled up alongside them and a man inside fired several rounds at them.
