Stamford Police Investigating Teen Struck by Car

Stamford Police announced Thursday that the investigation into an accident that occurred the prior evening in which a 19-year-old Stamford woman was struck by a motor vehicle along High Ridge Road.

According to Sgt. Andrew Gallagher, a 1998 Saab 900 being operated by Robert Luciano, 66, of Crystal Lake Road, was turning from Hartswood Road onto High Ridge Road at approximately 6:05 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, when it struck Jonnia Todmann-Harding.

Gallagher said Luciano was traveling through a green light when his vehicle struck Todmann-Harding. The teen had just exited a CT Transit bus and was attempting to cross to the west side of High Ridge Road when she was struck, Gallagher said.
Todmann-Harding was transported to the emergency room at Stamford Hospital and remains in the hospital's Critical Care Unit, where she continues to receive treatment.

Gallagher said neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the collision. Several witnesses and a doctor on the scene were able to assist Todmann-Harding and the police with their investigation. Officer Hugh Mullin is currently leading the on-going investigation.
