Stamford Police Investigate Suspicious Death

Police are investigating the death of a 45-year-old Stamford man.

Police are labeling the death of a 45-year-old man in Stamford "suspicious" after police said they discovered his body in his home with signs of blunt force trauma.

Police identified the man as Russell Pinto, of 329 Sylvan Knoll Road. According to Ly. Diedrich Hohn, authorities received notification of the presence of his body Sunday morning at approximately 11:30 a.m.

Police said they removed the body and sent it for an autopsy, which will be conducted Tuesday by the Medical Examiner. The States Attorneys' Officer assisted police in obtaining a search warrant for the residence.

Police said an investigation is ongoing and more information would be available following the autospy. Anyone with information regarding Russell Pinto' passing or his whereabout Saturday evening are urged to contact police at 203-977-4417
