Stamford Police Charge Man with Sexual Assault of Toddler Niece

The man allegedly sexually assaulted his niece, who was under the age of four at the time.

Stamford Police announced Thursday afternoon the arrest of a 36-year-old city man on an outstanding warrant for first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.

Adelono Vega-Dubron was detained in Las Vegas on a warrant and transported back to Stamford Wednesday, according to Lt. Diedrich Hohn.

Hohn said on July 30, 2012, police responded to Stamford High School for a report of a sexual assault committed on a female under 4 years of age. A resulting investigation led to the girl's uncle, identified as Vega-Dubron, as the perpetrator, according to Hohn.

Several interviews were conducted by Off. Louis Pasquino and a warrant was issued for Vega-Dubron, who Hohn said quickly fled the area and recently resurfaced in Vegas.

Vega-Dubron is currently being held on a $75,000 bond.
