Stamford Police Arrest July Stabbing Suspect

New Haven's David H. Robinson was delivered to the Stamford Police Department, having an outstanding warrant for stabbing a man while he was in Columbus Park two months ago.

The Stamford Police Department has arrested David H. Robinson, 27, of 13 Dickerman Street in New Haven, and charged him with first degree assault for allegedly stabbing a Stamford male in the neck.

"The assault happened July 8, police are just now arresting him for it," SPD's Sgt. Adrian Novia said. "Lt. James Matheny was working extra duty in Columbus Park when several people came to him and stated that a man had just been stabbed. Matheny located the victim, who was bleeding from his neck."

Lt. Matheny treated the wound on the scene to the best of his ability while the victim identified his attacker as David H. Robinson. The victim was taken to Stamford Hospital, received dozens of stitches among other treatments, and was later released.

"SPD detectives took over the investigation, and were able to secure an arrest warrant for Robinson," Novia said.

Robinson was recently arrested in New Haven on charges unrelated to his Stamford assault charge, according to the SPD. New Haven police eventually confirmed that Robinson had a standing warrant in Stamford.
