Stamford PD Roundup: Mugging Reported, Pedestrian Hit by Car


Pedestrian hit by car:
Stamford Police report a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle Tuesday night and was being treated at Stamford Hospital for multiple injuries.

According to Sgt. Chris Broehms, police are investigating the accident involving a man who was found lying in the road at 425 W. Main St. at about 9:40 p.m. July 16, bleeding from the face.

The victim was taken to Stamford Hospital for facial cuts and bruises and a fractured right shoulder and right elbow, Broehms said. The accident is under investigation.

Mugging reported:
A man reported to police that he was confronted by three men and robbed of $300 as he sat on a bench at the Mill River Park near Smith Street at about 10:30 p.m. July 16, according to Broehms.

The man, who police described as intoxicated, then refused to cooperate with officers who were driving him in the neighborhood in search of suspects. The man demanded he be let of the car and didn't provide any more information. 

Arrest:

Witney L. Robinson, 23, of 170 Willston St., Bridgeport, was arrested at 1:15 p.m. July 16, on charges of credit card theft and fifth-degree larceny in connection with an April 6 incident.
