On Thursday afternoon, Stamford Police Chief Jon Fontneau and Mayor Michael Pavia swore in Sergeant Chris Broems and Sergeant Steven Perrotta during their promotions.
"I couldn't be prouder," said Fontneau. "They are the future of the police department."
Broems has been a Stamford police officer for 16 years and has served as a patrolman, a school resource officer and in the narcotics division. Most recently he served in the narcotics & organized crime division for the past nine years. Broems was also Officer of the Year in 2007.
Perrotta is an 8-year veteran of the Stamford Police Department. He's served as a patrolman, in the youth bureau, as a community resource officer and in the narcotics & organized crime division.
"It's well deserved, they're two of the hardest working guys in the police department," said Lietuenant Tim Shaw, Commander of the Narcotics & Organized Crime Division. "I might be biased, but I'm going to put my faith in them wherever they go."
