Stamford Paralegal Admits to Stealing More Than $120K

She allegedly applied for a loan under another person's name.

A Stamford paralegal from Trumbull faces up to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty Tuesday to embezzlement.

Stacey Williams, 39, entered the plea before Judge Ellen Bree Burns in U.S. District Court in New Haven.

According to a press release, Williams handled a home equity loan application for the Stamford law firm she was employed by. In December 2007, the client changed his mind, but Williams applied for the loan in his name and accepted $149,824 into the firm's Connecticut bank account.
