Stamford Man Stabbed During Failed Robbery

The victim was unable to produce money for the suspect and was stabbed, police said.

Authorities reported a 25-year-old city man being stabbed by an attacker that demanded money during a robbery during the early morning hours, police said Friday.

According to authorities, at approximately 3:20 a.m. Friday, police received a call about a man who was walking along Greenwich Ave. towards Richmond Hill Ave. when a man approached him and asked for money.

Police said when the man declined, saying he had none to give, the suspect demanded money. When the victim could produce none, the suspect pulled out a knife and allegedly stabbed the victim in the abdomen, according to police.

The victim was taken to Stamford Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, including injuries to his neck in addition to the stab wound. An investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to search for the suspect.

Sylvia Annette Brown, 49,of Crestfall Ct. in Petersburg, Va., was charged Thursday with third-degree money laundering, first-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit larceny in the first-degree, second-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny. 

Brown's arrest is the eighth associated with a recent case of women allegedly conducting a lottery scam against unsuspecting victims in the area.

Other Arrests

Francine Bernadel, 41, of Magee Ave., was charged Thursday evening with third-degree assault and risk of injury to a child.

Amanda Bolanos, 25, of Strawberry Hill Ave., was charged early Friday with evading responsibility and operating/towing an unregistered motor vehicle.

Travis Devon Burroughs, 26, of W. Main St., was charged Thursday night with second-degree breach of peace and two counts risk of injury to a child.

Wendy Cooper, 45, of Den Rd., was charged Thursday afternoon with illegal operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, risk of injury to a child and failure to drive in a proper lane.

Nickolaus Dedvukaj, 41, of Stonehill Rd. in Bedford, NY, was charged Thursday evening with third-degree criminal trespass, third-degree identity theft, third-degree forgery and interfering with an officer/resisting. Additionally, he received an extradition arrest by warrant.

Jean Francois, 54, of North Ave. in Bridgeport, was charged Thursday night with assault on an emergency medical personnel.

Eric Maldonado, 29, of Givens St., was charged early Friday with carrying a dangerous weapon, third-degree criminal mischief, possession of burglar tools, interfering with an officer/resisting and two counts violation of probation.

Monica Morales, 26, of W. Main St., was charged Thursday night with second-degree breach of peace.

Jonathan Rosario-Reyes, 27, of Second St., was charged early Friday with possession of narcotics and interfering with an officer/resisting.

Darren Andrew Shelley, 21, of Lawn Ave., was charged Thursday night with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct (Fighting with a dangerous instrument capable of causing serious injury). 

Larry R. Shelley, 24, of Lawn Ave., was charged Thursday night with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct (Fighting with a dangerous instrument capable of causing serious injury).
