Suspect displayed semi-automatic gun and demanded the victim hand over his wallet.

A Stamford man walking at the intersection of Smith Street and Schuyler Avenue was robbed at gunpoint by an unknown black male Thursday night.

According to police, the victim was walking toward his home at about 8:51 p.m. and was approached by a black male who displayed a semi-automatic gun and demanded the victim hand over his wallet. Police did not release the age of the victim.

Fearing for his life, the victim handed over his wallet, which contained an unspecified amount of money, police said. The suspect fled with the wallet and the victim did not sustain any physical injuries. After a thorough check of the neighborhood, police were unable to locate the suspect, who is described as being 5’6 and was wearing dark clothes and a knit cap.
