Stamford Man Nabbed In Port Chester Cologne Theft
A Stamford man stole bottles of Chrome and Eternity from a Port Chester, NY Kohl's before he was nabbed by security, according to police.
A Stamford man was arrested Thursday for lifting two bottles of cologne from Kohl's on Boston Post Road, according to the Port Chester Police Department.
Security officers at the department store had their eye on 23-year-old Delmar Ortiz when they spotted him behaving oddly after he walked into Kohl's at 6 p.m., Lt. James Ladeairous said.
Ortiz stuffed two bottles of cologne -- Chrome and Eternity, according to the police report -- into a plastic shopping bag and walked past the row of cashiers toward the store exit. That's when he was stopped by security, who called police.
Ortiz, of Quintard Street in Stamford, was charged with misdemeanor petty larceny. The combined value of the two bottles of cologne was $119. The merchandise was recovered.
