Stamford Man Faces Many Motor Vehicle Charges in Greenwich

Greenwich Police started their holiday drunk driving enforcement campaign last Friday night and one of the drivers nabbed included a Stamford man.

At about 4:15 a.m. Dec. 20, Greenwich Police stopped a driver who didn't lower the high beams of his car and then weave over the double yellow line on Delavan Avenue in the Byram section of town, according to a police report.

Fabricio J. Fortuna, 37, who gave an address of 11 Burr St., Stamford, reportedly had red, glassy eyes, an odor of alcohol, and failed field sobriety tests. He was charged with driving under the influence, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating without insurance, failure to drive in proper lane, operating without a license and improper use of high beams.

Fortuna was held in lieu of $250 bond and scheduled to appear Jan. 3 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
