Stamford Man Charged with DWI After Driving into Ditch

State police arrested the man in the town of Gallatin.

State troopers responding to reports of a vehicle that had run off the roadway allegedly discovered an intoxicated Stamford man had run his pickup truck into a ditch, police said Wednesday.

Troopers responding from SP Livingston at approximately 10:35 p.m. Monday night reportedly found a truck off the roadway along State Route 82 in Gallatin.

Police identified the operator as Kevin A. Hanson, 57, of Roxbury Rd. Authorities said they allegedly detected alcohol and administered sobriety tests to Hanson, who was unable to complete them. He also refused a breath test, police alleged.

Police said the vehicle was observed to have damage as a result of driving into a dtich.

Hanson was taken into custody and charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to use a designated lane. He was arraigned and remanded to Columbia County Jail, on a $500 cash/$1,000 bond. He was given a court date of March 4.
