Stamford Man Bikes Into Hotel Garage, Arrested For Attempted Car Burglary

Carl Dawkins, 20, 109 Tresser Blvd., was arrested at 5:53 a.m. on Wednesday and charged with three counts of attempt to commit larceny, third degree burglary, and possession of burglar tools.

"He rode a bicycle into a hotel at 909 Washington Blvd.," SPD's Sgt. Vacarro said, referring to the Hotel Zero Degrees. "He tried to break into two cars."

According to SPD, police were notified of Dawkins' presence. When they arrived and arrested him, he was found with "burglary tools," which according to Sgt. Vacarro, most likely means a screwdriver.

"He didn't steal anything or break into any cars," Vacarro said.

Dawkins will appear in court later this week.

Henry Jara-Villamarin, 19, 45 Hapin Ave., Stamford, was arrested Tuesday for disorderly conduct and fourth degree criminal mischief.

Amr Saleh, 54, 123 Vine Road, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with disorderly conduct.
