Stamford Man Arrested for Breaking Into Westport Friend's Home

A Stamford resident was arrested on Thursday after he allegedly stole money from a former friend's home, according to .

Reynald Lespinasse, 42, of 92 Ursula Place, was apparently told by the owner of the residence the night before not to visit the home anymore and the owner left for the night to avoid any further contact with Lespinasse, police said.

When the owner returned to the residence Thursday morning, Lespinasse was seen walking down the stairs from the second floor of the residence. The owner left and contacted the police department. When officers responded, Lespinasse was gone, but the screen on the front window had a bent frame and the owner noticed that money was missing.

Officers later located Lespinasse at the Greens Farms Railroad Station and was
taken into custody. He was charged with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny and his bond was set at $5,000. He also has outstanding warrant stemming from a failure to appear in court charge in Stamford. He was arraigned in on Thursday morning.
