Stamford Man, 71, Charged with Assault

A 71-year-old was charged with assault and a tire iron allegedly stuck between a man's car seats leads to not passing go, not collecting $200, going directly to jail.

A 71-year-old Stamford man was arrested on assault charges following a domestic dispute.

Harold J. Gleaton, of Ann St., was arrested after he allegedly struck his wife, who declined medical attention.

Gleaton was arrested on charges of assault, disorderly conduct and violating a protective order. He was held on a $2,500 bond and was due in court Friday.

Donis Jesus Mejia-Leiva, 24, of Gregory St., was charged early Friday morning with failure to obey a stop sign, operating a motor vehicle without a license and resisting.

Omar Parra, 25, of Summit Ave. in Norwalk, was charged Wednesday night with operating a motor vehicle without a license, failing to display lights and illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle for having a tire iron stuck between his driver anf front passenger seats. He was found to be in violation of probation and remanded directly to jail.

Jose Veliz, 36, of Lillian St., was charged Friday morning with illegal possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.
