Stamford Man, 62, Struck By Car While Lying in Roadway
A sedan attempting to pass a truck which had stopped for the man in the roadway ended up striking the pedestrian itself.
A 62-year-old Stamford man was struck by a vehicle early Monday morning while he was lying in the middle of the street, authorities said Monday.
At approximately 1:03 a.m., a man lying in the middle of the road at Dock and Pacific streets for unknown reasons was struck by a dark-colored sedan and posisbly-tinted windows, according to police.
The westbound sedan was allegedly passing a truck that had been stopped by a second pedestrian, who had spotted the man in the road and was attempting to alert oncoming traffic.

The Stamford Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad is requesting the public’s assistance in contacting the truck that stopped for the pedestrian as well as identifying the car that drove over the pedestrian.
