Stamford Firefighters Shave Heads for Kids with Cancer

On Thursday, 13 firefighters joined the St. Baldrick’s Head Shaving event at Bradford’s Grill.

On Thursday night, 13 Stamford firefighters joined the St. Baldrick's Head Shaving event at Bradford's Grill to shave their heads in a fundraising effort to support and show solidarity for kids with cancer.

According to the firefighter's St.Baldrick's page, they've managed to help raise almost $8,000 through their efforts this year. St. Baldrick's is "a national organization that funds the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancer," according to a release from the Stamford Professional Firefighters Association.

"Our firefighters are losing their hair so one day soon we can stop this terrible disease and no child will have to lose their hair from cancer," said Brendan Keatley, President of the Stamford Professional Fire Fighters Association. "Our firefighters are dedicated to trying to stop the illness in its tracks and to helping those who are already suffering from cancer and its consequences."

Bradford’s Grill is located at 83 Bedford Street.
