Stamford Emergency Personnel Help Woman in Labor on Way to Hospital

The officers arrived in about a minute, officials on scene said.

A pregnant woman driving herself to the hospital Thursday morning had to be assisted by authorities when she went into labor while driving.

Police officials on scene said officers nearby were able to respond an assist the woman in about a minute.

Stamford Fire Department, EMS and Police all responded to assist the woman, who pulled her SUV over at the corner of Washington and Tresser boulevards.

An ambulance took the woman the rest of the way to Stamford Hospital, just a couple of blocks away.
