Stamford Cousins Fighting Over Leftovers Top Police Blotter

Cousins fighting over leftovers in the refrigerator resulted in a black eye and one arrest.

 

Stamford police arrested a 20-year-old man Wednesday evening after he allegedly struck his own cousin in an apartment they share over a dispute about food, police said Thursday.

According to authorities, they were summoned to a home in the first block of Frederick St. by the father of the arrested suspect, identified as 20-year-old Andrew Morales.

The victim reported to police that he did not know why the dispute started, however, police said Morales gave a statement while being processed.

Police said Morales informed them that his cousin, "disrespected him when he said he didn't know who ate the food in the fridge and that's when fists started to fly."

Other Arrests

Damien Diaz, 30, of N. Main St. in Moosup, was charged Wednesday with larceny (embezzlement) for allegedly stealing his own car back from an impound lot to avoid paying fees for work done to it.

Samuel Elie, 36, of Ivy St., was charged Wednesday with engaging police in a pursuit, reckless driving, resisting and violation of probation.

Thomas Goethe, 31, of Green Ln. in Greenwich, was charged Wednesday with four counts of violation of probation.

Rudy A. Gonzalez, 18, of Lipton Pl., was charged Wednesday with violation of probation.

Gary Morales, 22, of Hope St., was charged Wednesday with disorderly conduct.

Gerard Raheneen Myrthil, 31, of Green St., was charged Thursday with failure to respond to a payable violation.

Julio C. Rivera, 42, of Main St. in Bridgeport, was charged Thursday with violation of a protective order.

Iganacio Tolentino, 36, of Lafayette St., was charged Thursday with evading responsibility, unsafe backing up and improperly operating a motor vehicle while on the highway.

Maurice T. Williams, 29, of Garden St., was charged Thursday with failure to appear.
