Stamford Bomb Squad Investigates Military Ordnance Found at Home

A resident reportedly called police Tuesday morning to report what appeared to be "a hollowed-out, military-grade bomb," which at first he thought was an antique.

Just days after it was announced that the 's bomb squad had — the smaller, lighter Dragon Runner 10 — the squad on Tuesday was called to investigate what appeared to be military grade bomb found behind a building at 276 Sylvan Knoll Road.

According to a report in the Stamford Advocate, a resident called police Tuesday morning to report what appeared to be "a hollowed-out, military-grade bomb," which at first he thought was an antique.

Police reportedly ordered the evacuation of several homes in the neighborhood as a precaution — but they were allowed back about a half hour later, after it was determined the device wasn't a threat.
