Skunk Stuck in Stamford School Storm Drain Pulled To Safety

A skunk stuck in a storm drain was rescued by Stamford Animal Care & Control Shelter authorities following several days of it running and hiding from officers where they would approach it.

Officer Tilford Cobb said he was notified the skunk was stuck in a storm drain on Stillwater Avenue near Stillmeadow Elementary School on Wednesday, June 12. But he said every time he approached the creature, it was scurry deeper into the drain.

On Friday, Cobb was finally able to rope the skunk and pull it to safety, he said.
