Reward Offered to Solve Stamford's Asian Restaurant Arsons

If you have information about the two recent fires that damaged Asian restaurants in Stamford, investigators want to hear from you.


A Stamford arson task force is offering a $3,500 reward for information that could lead to the arrest of those responsible for fires that damaged two Asian restaurants in the city last month.

Both fires have been determined to have been deliberately set, officials said in an announcement on Friday. Both fires are being investigated by the Stamford Police Department and the Stamford Fire Marshal's office.

On May 18, the Sushi XII Restaurant at 109 Atlantic St. had a deliberately set fire overnight, but self-extinguished and was able to reopen the next day, according to officials. On May 27, "an incendiary fire" destroyed the Pearl East Restaurant at 2720 Summer St. Pearl East suffered major damage and remains closed.

The task force is seeking the public’s help and is offering a $3,500 reward to anyone with information leading to an arrest and successful prosecution of an individual or individuals involved in setting the fires. The Organization of Chinese Americans, Fairfield County Chapter has contributed $1,000.00 towards this reward.
