Police: Suspicious Stamford Death Ruled Accidental
Police said a 45-year-old man appears to have expired from "cardio issues."
Police announced Tuesday the death of a 45-year-old Stamford man discovered deceased in his home has been ruled an "accidental death due to cardio issues."
According to a statement released by Lt. Diedrich Hohn, of the Crimes Against Persons Division at the Stamford Police Department, the States Medical Examiner had completed an autopsy on the body of Russell Pinto, of 329 Sylvan Knoll Road, and made the determination.
Hohn clarified the ruling as preliminary and said the department is still awaiting toxicology results. He also said the trauma to the body noted in the initial discovery has been ruled unrelated to Pinto's death, but said there is an ongoing investigation into their cause.
