Police Seek Public's Help In Locating Homicide Suspect

Victim found stabbed to death in vehicle on Thursday.

STAMFORD--Police are requesting the public's help in locating Isaias Rojaz-Vasquez, a suspect in the of a Stamford man found in a car parked on Spruce Street.

In a news release, Lt. Jim Matheny says Rojaz-Vasquez stabbed the man while he was asleep in the car. Matheny says the events leading up to the murder are unknown, but police have some information they may have been involved in a confrontation Wednesday evening.

Rojas-Vasquez, 27, is "definitely on the run," Matheny says, and is considered armed and dangerous. He says a warrant for his arrest has been obtained.

The suspect's been seen in the area of East Haven and New Haven. Although police believe he's still in Connecticut, a wanted poster for him says he may be en route to Guatemala.

Rojas-Vasquez is described as Hispanic, 5-feet 5-inches tall, weighing 145 pounds. He last resided at 153 Spruce St., #1, on the city's west side.

He previously was arrested in Stamford in October 2008 for aggravated assault.
