Police: Man Eats at Restaurant, Says He Can't Pay. Twice.

At a restaurant in the Stamford Marriott Hotel, a city man said he couldn't pay for his meal when the check came.

David Fine, 61, of Stamford, ordered a meal at a restaurant in Stamford, and then, when the check came, he said he couldn't pay for it, police said.

That happened within the past a few weeks, according to Stamford police. Then, on Sunday in a restaurant at the Stamford Marriott Hotel, it happened again.

Police were called to the hotel at 234 Tresser Blvd. at about 7:15 p.m., where they charged Fine, of Grove Street, with sixth-degree larceny.

Information on Fine's bond, if any, and court date was not available Monday.

Stamford Arrests

Steven Barnes, 39, of Maurice Street, Bridgeport, charged Sunday afternoon with third-degree criminal trespass and possession of less than four ounces of marijuana.

Dwight Depina, 33, of Richmond Place, Stamford, charged Sunday afternoon with second-degree assault and interfering with an emergency call.

Mark Seward, 20, charged Sunday morning with third-degree assault and violation of a protective order.

Terry Smith, 44, of Atlantic Street, Bridgeport, charged Sunday morning with second-degree indering prosecution and third-degree criminal trespass.

Maxine Taber, 44, of Sherman Street, Greenwich, charged at midnight Saturday to Sunday with violation of probation.

Guillermo Torres, 30, of Elm Street, charged early Monday morning with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana.

Marco Vega, 27, of Taff Avenue, charged Saturday evening with failure to drive on the right side of the road, driving without a driver's license, driving while under the influence and disobeying a signal from a police officer.

Juan Carlos Villa, 27, of Alden Street, charged early Monday morning with second-degree failure to appear in court, driving a motor vehicle while his driver's license was suspended and failure to drive in the proper lane.
