Police Investigating Violent Beating, Home Invasion

A Stamford resident was savagely beaten and robbed Tuesday morning in his Dancy Drive home.

Stamford police are investigating a home invasion that occurred on Dancy Drive  Tuesday morning. A resident of the home, who was inside at the time, was brutally attacked during the robbery and is being treated at .

According to police, the victim, who was home alone, heard noises from an upstairs hallway just before 10 a.m. When he went to check it out, he was attacked by a single male armed with an unidentified club-like weapon. The perpetrator attempted to strangle the victim and then beat him with weapon.

The victim is currently being treated for multiple blunt force injuries to his head, face and body.

According to police, the victim told investigators that the attacker was a white male between 6" and 6.2" tall with a dark hat and gloves and a dark-colored mask (possibly a bandanna). A witness told officers that a blue Volkswagen Jetta was seen leaving the area at the time, but whether the car has any connection to the case has not yet been determined.
