Police Investigating Death of Stamford Man Following Crash

Stamford authorities announced Wednesday evening they were currently conducting an investigation into the death of a 68-year-old Stamford resident following a motor vehicle crash earlier that dame day.

According to Sgt. Andrew Gallagher, police responded to reports of a motor vehicle that had struck a building at 1228 E. Main Street near Home Court at approximately 11:29 a.m. Wednesday. A pickup truck had struck the corner of Dobson Irrigation, the business located there.

The operator and sole occupant was transported from the scene by Stamford Emergency Medical Service personnel with the assistance of Stamford Fire-Rescue Department personnel. Witnesses and an ensuing investigation led police to believe the man may have suffered from some sort of medical episode prior to the crash.

Determination of the cause of death is pending investigation by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Any further witnesses are requested to contact Officer Hugh Mullin of C.A.R.S. at (203) 977-4712.
