Police Find 100 Bags of Cocaine in Stamford Man's Possession

arrested a 34-year-old Stamford man Wednesday night after finding cocaine and marijuana in his car during a routine stop.

According to police, officers were driving westbound on East Main Street when they noticed a 1994 Honda Accord operating with a busted headlight. After the car turned onto Myrtle Avenue, the officers stopped the vehicle, which was being driven by Agustin Crespo of 80 Spruce Street. When one of the officers approached the vehicle, he noticed that the inside of the car smelled like marijuana. Crespo told the officer that his girlfriend, who was not in the car at the time, left a marijuana cigarette in the ashtray.

Crespo was instructed to exit the vehicle and a canine officer was called to the scene to search the car. One of the officers performed a pat down on Crespo and located a bulge in his right jacket pocket. The officer located a large plastic bag containing smaller plastic bags with what policed later identified as cocaine.

When the canine officer arrived, the dog located two marijuana cigarettes in the car's ash tray as well as a scale and two additional bags of cocaine in the center console. Crespo was arrested and charged with operation of a drug factory, possession of narcotics, sale of certain illegal drugs and possession of a controlled substance. Crespo was released on a $7,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 6.

Andrew Bradshaw, 19, of 29 Mission Street, Stamford, was arrested Wednesday for possession of a controlled substance.

Bolivar Garcia, 28, of 40 Lockwood Ave., Stamford, was arrested Wednesday for failure to appear in court in the second-degree.

John Grasso, 44, of 597 South Pacific Street, Stamford, was arrested Thursday for illegal operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, traveling at an unreasonable speed, unsafe movement of a stopped vehicle, failure to keep narcotics in an organized container, possession of narcotics and possession of a controlled substance.

Carlos Londono, 23, of 87 Glenbrook Road, Stamford, was arrested Thursday for operation of a motor vehicle without a license and two counts of failure to display lights.

Philip Melia, 39, of 56 Stonybrook Drive, Stamford, was arrested Wednesday for first-degree assault.

Andrew Nielson, 25, of 85 Willowbrook Ave., Stamford, was arrested Wednesday for second-degree threatening and disorderly conduct.

Elijah Oliver, 21, of 22 Anderson Street, Stamford, was arrested Wednesday for resisting arrest.

Hope Vinson, 23, of 935 Woodcote Drive, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, was arrested Wednesday for sixth-degree larceny.
