Police Accuse Stamford Man Of Kicking Ex-Wife's Car

Police arrested a 41-year-old Hoyclo St. man for backing into his ex-wife's parked car, then hopping out and kicking it, they said.

Officers responding to a motor vehicle accident on Garden St. Sunday discovered that only one car had remained on scene, Police announced Monday morning.

According to authorities, the victim reported she had observed from the window in her home, a white Dodge Ram pickup truck drive past her vehicle parked on the side of the road, stop and back into her car.

She told police the man then got out and kicked her driver's side door, according to authorities.

She alleged that the driver, identified by police as Miguel Angel Rivas, 41, of Hoyclo Rd., was her ex-husband.

There was minor damage to the front left portion of the bumper. Rivas was stopped a short time later by police and arrested, then identified by the victim as the person who backed into her parked car.

Rivas was charged with evading responsibility after causing property damage or injury, criminal mischief and illegally operating a motor vehicle while under suspension.
