Norwalk Woman Robbed, Sexually Assaulted on Stamford Bridge

A Norwalk woman abandoned by her friend during a robbery was sexually assaulted before police could arrive.

A 20-year-old Norwalk woman abandoned by her friend during a robbery was sexually assaulted during the altercation, police said Thursday afternoon.

Two victims, a male and a female, were walking across the bridge at Richmond Hill Ave. near Clinton St. at around 2 a.m. Police said they told them they were heading toward the train station.

They were approached from behind by a hispanic male who displayed a knife and demanded money from the victims, authorities said.

The male victim ran away and, momentarily, the suspect gave chase, police said, before turning his attention back toward the female.

The suspect took the female's purse and sexually assaulted her.

Police said they extensively canvassed the area but could not located a suspect. He was described as a hispanic male with spiked hair wearing a white jacket and jeans.
