Norwalk Man Charged with Stamford Break-in, Attack

A Norwalk man was arrested on charges ranging from burglary to unlawful restraint after attacking his ex-girlfriend in her Shippan Ave. home, police said Tuesday.

Authorities arrested a 44-year-old Norwalk man for breaking into his ex-girlfriend's home and attacking her just after midnight Monday night, police said Tuesday morning.

Perrin Enghardt Aus allegedly enter his ex-girlfriend's home in the 900 block of Shippan Ave. sometime in the middle of the night, police said. When the victim, 52, awoke to noises in her bedroom, the man attacked, according to authorities.

Police said a brief struggle ensued, during which Aus is accused of holding the victim down. During the struggle, the victim began screaming and the suspect took off on foot, police said.

There was a protective order on file, issued Nov. 2011, of which Aus was also allegedly in violation.

Aus was held in lieu of $10,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, police said. He faces charges of burglary, unlawful restraint and violation of a protective order.
